Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up about her life as a new mom and shared the name of her baby boy.
In her cover interview with Vogue, the Hunger Games actress reflected on motherhood and revealed that her son, born in February, has a rather unusual name.
Fans had mixed reactions to the unique name.
Some took to social media, commenting that it: “Sounds more like a noise than a name.” Another remarked: “Is this short for something? It feels incomplete.”
A third was concerned that the usual name would cause trouble for the child in the future, writing: “What a ridiculous name. This poor child will be bullied, no doubt.”
Still, many came to her defense, with one fan writing, “Simple, classy, and meaningful. Not every name needs to be traditional!”
Another agreed, saying: “If it’s inspired by art, it’s beautiful and personal.”
In the interview, Lawrence spoke candidly about the joys and challenges of motherhood.
“The euphoria is just — Jesus, it’s impossible,” she shared. “I always tell him, ‘I love you so much it’s impossible.’”
Reflecting on her emotional journey, she described how her heart has expanded in ways she never imagined.
“My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that.”
She also shared her apprehensions about her son’s future.
“And then they’re both just, like, out there — walking around, crossing streets. He’s gonna drive one day. He’s gonna be a stupid teenager and be behind the wheel of a car,” she said.
“And I’m just gonna be like, Good night! You know? Like, who sleeps?”
The Don’t Look Up actress revealed that giving birth was a transformative experience.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, ‘Now is day one of my life,’” she explained.
“I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors.”
Despite her openness, Lawrence has emphasized her desire to protect her son’s privacy.
In a previous Vanity Fair interview, she said: “Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives.”
She added that she avoids including her child in her public work to ensure his life remains as private as possible.
While reactions to the name ‘Cy’ vary, many fans admire the thought behind it.
For Lawrence, the name holds deep personal significance, aligning with her family’s connection to art and creativity.
J-Law explained that the was inspired by Cy Twombly, a renowned postwar American painter and one of her husband Cooke Maroney’s favorite artists.

Jenna Ortega Defends 30-Year Age Gap Following Backlash
Jenna Ortega has spoken out regarding the controversy surrounding a 30-year age gap relationship.
Ortega is no stranger to making the headlines – whether she’s addressing those Johnny Depp rumours or defending a racy scene she filmed when she was just 19 years old.
But now she’s facing the backlash over another major age gap relationship.
The divisive story is about her movie, Miller’s Girl, where she stars opposite Martin Freeman.
Despite Ortega’s defense, Miller’s Girl faced a wave of backlash upon its release. Viewers took to social media, expressing their discomfort.
One user on X described the film as: “so gross! So, so, so, so gross!”
Another criticized a specific scene, calling it: “the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” while someone else addressed Freeman directly, posting: “MARTIN FREEMAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO JENNA ORTEGA.”
The 22-year-old actress addressed criticism of the on-screen relationship between her character, 18-year-old Cairo Sweet, and Freeman’s character, high school teacher Jonathan Miller, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.
Released in January 2024, the film delves into an inappropriate dynamic between a teacher and his student, sparking widespread debate due to the 30-year age gap between the leads.
Discussing the uncomfortable premise, Ortega explained: “It’s not supposed to be a comfortable movie. It’s supposed to be awful at times.”
She further elaborated: “Art isn’t always meant to be pleasant or happy, [where] everyone skips off into the sunset at the end. We all have f–ked up experiences at one point or another.”
Freeman himself addressed the criticism earlier in the year, defending the film’s intent. In an April interview with The Times, he emphasized” “The film is grown-up and nuanced. It’s not saying, ‘Isn’t this great?’”
He likened the criticism to questioning actors’ roles in other difficult narratives, adding: “Are we gonna have a go at Liam Neeson for being in a film about the Holocaust?”
Kristina Arjona, the film’s intimacy coordinator, also weighed in on the controversy.
In February, she told the Daily Mail that Ortega was fully aware of and comfortable with the scenes she participated in.
“There were many, many people throughout this process engaging with [Ortega] to make sure that it was consistent with what she was comfortable with,” said Arjona.
She also noted that modesty garments and other safeguards were used during the simulated sex scenes to maintain appropriate boundaries.
Directed by Jade Halley Bartlett, the film features additional performances from Dagmara Domińczyk, Bashir Salahuddin, Gideon Adlon, and Christine Adams.
Despite its cast and bold storyline, Miller’s Girl struggled financially, earning under $900,000 worldwide on a $4 million budget.
It also received a lukewarm reception, with a 29% critics score and 42% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix Star Lynn Ban Has Died
Netflix star Lynn Ban has tragically died aged 51.
The Singaporean celebrity jewelry designer became a reality TV star after starring in Bling Empire: New York, which follows ‘Asian American socialites who flaunt their fortunes – and fashions – while bringing the drama and living it up in New York City.’
Ban made a name for herself with her intricate jewelry, as A-listers such as Madonna, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga wore her designs.
Following the devastating announcement of her passing, tributes have poured in on social media.
One fan says: “That’s incredibly sad and shocking to hear about her passing.”
Another writes: “How super sad and tragic. So unfortunate. I’m so sorry. She was too young.”
“Such a tragic loss. Lynn Ban was not only a talented designer but also a major influence in the fashion world,” a third user pens. “My thoughts are with her family during this incredibly difficult time.”
A fourth person comments: “She was known for her bold, glamorous style and her larger-than-life presence, so her loss will be deeply felt by both her fans and those close to her.”
Bling Empire: New York is a spinoff show from the original Bling Empire, which focused on Asian American socialites in Los Angeles – it’s been described as a real-life Crazy Rich Asians.
The socialite’s death was confirmed by her son, Sebastian, in an emotional Instagram post on January 22.
He wrote: “Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person. I would like to take the chance to share who my mum really was. She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all.
“She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know. She was the funniest and coolest mum I could ever ask for.
“She took care of me, my dad, and our entire family throughout her whole life. Although she may be gone now, I will do everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten and for her life to be celebrated as it deserves to be.”
Ban underwent brain surgery following a ski accident in Aspen on Christmas Eve.
In a social media post on New Year’s Eve, the 51-year-old revealed she ‘face planted’ the ground while skiing at the top of a mountain. She was wearing a helmet at the time.
Ban added: “It didn’t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom.”
A ski patrol officer checked the star for a concussion and cleared her, however, she still had a slight headache. At the hospital, a check found she had a brain bleed and she was sent in for an emergency craniotomy.
A craniotomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing a section of the skull to access the brain, per Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Ban wrote in the caption: “In a blink of an eye… life can change,” then adding it would be a long road to recovery but she was a fighter.
The Netflix star’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.
Ban is survived by her son Sebastian and husband Jett Kain.
